Hinnan House

"About two miles west of town toward Torrington stands this old house which was at one time a tavern.
Built approximately 1740, it was a tavern in 1796.  Upstairs in the attic is a hiding place under the floor next to the
chimney large enough for three people to hide."

There is alos a Negro Hill Road.  Is there a settlement of Blacks there?
